Dr. Ramnauth is the Founder and Director of Jersey Shore Surgery & Vein Center. He is certified by The American Board of Vascular Surgery and is dedicated exclusively to the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of vein conditions which includes varicose veins and spider veins. He has over 15 years of experience in the treatment of venous disorders. He is also an expert in the management of other vein conditions including blood clots, venous leg swelling and associated skin conditions (ulcers, venous stasis dermatitis and leg swelling).
Dr. Ramnauth graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Arnold and Marie Swartz College of Pharmacy, Brooklyn, New York. He went on to receive a Doctorate in Clinical Pharmacy from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City before earning his medical degree from Wake Forest University of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency and served as Chief Surgery Resident at Wayne State University and Detroit Medical Center.
During his five-year general surgery residency, Dr. Ramnauth developed a keen interest in the field of surgical critical care, and diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases. He pursued a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at Lincoln Medical Center/Cornell University in New York. He then pursued a second fellowship, to specialize in vascular surgery, that led him to the Jobst vascular Institute in Toledo, Ohio. Here he trained with an emphasis on complex minimally invasive vascular therapies including treatment of complex venous disorders with emphasis on the latest minimally invasive catheter-based therapies.
Dr. Ramnauth initially developed a hospital-based vascular and endovascular surgery private practice and was one of the first vein specialists in South Jersey to address the diagnosis and treatment of venous disorders. However, referrals from local physicians began pouring in as physicians sought the most current and best treatments for their patients with venous problems in an office-based setting.
Soon, it was apparent that there is a significant need for more expert and dedicated care in the treatment of vein disorders for the residents of South Jersey. A few years later, the practice of Dr. Ramnauth became dedicated to the treatment of patients with venous disorders.
Now using the latest technologies and advancements, including minimally invasive endovenous thermal ablation, endovenous foam ablation, ambulatory microphlebectomy, ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy, foam sclerotherapy and laser treatment of spiders and reticular veins, patients are safely and best treated in the office setting here at the Jersey Shore Surgery and Vein Center.
Dr. Ramnauth’s spectrum of experience and success in treating the most complex vascular conditions has allowed him to develop a uniquely qualified approach to help his patients with vein problems. It is important to note that other doctors advertise treatment of vein diseases but often they are not Board-Certified Vascular Surgeons.
